Minister of Environment, Yasmine Fouad, announced the launch of the second phase of the GreenRoots initiative, in partnership with MSD, a leading pharmaceutical company, and the Egyptian Pharmaceutical Students Federation (EPSF).
This initiative aligns with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s “100 Million Trees” initiative, which aims to combat desertification, increase green spaces, improve air quality, and reduce emissions.
The Ministry of Environment has committed to planting 13 million trees over a seven-year period.
Minister Fouad highlighted the critical role of public-private partnerships in achieving environmental balance and promoting public health. By collaborating with the private sector and civil society organizations, the initiative aims to accelerate its impact and create a more sustainable future for Egypt.
