Dress more warmly: temperatures to drop in Egypt as winter sets in

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) predicted that Egypt will experience a slight drop in temperatures this week, by 2-3 degrees, starting Tuesday. Winds and rains of varying intensity are also expected.

The EMA noted that rainfall and wind will enhance the feeling of cold weather in the country's northern parts.

Light morning fog is expected Monday on some agricultural and significant roads near water bodies. Fog might intensify in Lower Egypt, the Suez Canal cities, and central Sinai.

The EMA forecasted that moderate winds may also occur intermittently in parts across southern Sinai and southern Upper Egypt.

Temperatures in Cairo, Lower Egypt, and the North Coast are expected to reach 18 degrees in the morning by Friday and drop to 10 degrees at night.

Astronomical calculations set 21 December as the beginning of winter in Egypt.
