Egypt’s Ambassador Bassam Rady met in Rome on Friday with Senator Lucio Malan, leader of Italy’s ruling right-wing majority bloc, to discuss aspects of bilateral relations.
Rady and Malan expressed their appreciation of stronger ties between the two countries, citing booming co-operation at all levels, i.e. political, economic, commercial, military, energy and tourism.
The Egyptian diplomat has said there is a mutual pragmatic, geographical and political awareness between the two countries towards dealing with current challenges, citing intense and fruitful cooperation on all common files, such as migration, energy, trade, investment and development.
For his part, Senator Malan has stressed Italy’s aspiration to continue joint cooperation for broader horizons with a pivotal country like Egypt, which is considered a balance of power for security and stability in the region under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
