Cairo Governor conducts inspection tour of Banhawi Street

Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber inspected the development work of Banhawi Street at Bab El-Nasr, Wast Al-Qahira district.

During his tour, Saber said efforts to increase the efficiency of the street come as part of the Historic Cairo Development Project, asserting facilitation will be provided to complete the project. He added that coordination has been made among all relevant authorities to revive and preserve the area in line with political leadership’s directives.

Moreover, Saber said the overall vision of the Historic Cairo Development Project focuses on preserving and enhancing the social and economic activity within the urban fabric of the area. It also aims to create a new historic tourism destination in Cairo that will help increase investments in the tourism sector and restore the capital's former glory and status.

The development work includes resurfacing the street, upgrading pavements, painting curbstones, improving street lighting, increasing landscaping, preventing illegal car parking, and organizing traffic.

The governor was accompanied by Deputy Cairo Governor Ibrahim Abdel Hadi and several officials of Cairo governorate.
