PM holds meeting to follow up on Egyptian-South Sudanese projects

Several Egyptian development projects are being implemented in South Sudan and other agreements are being drafted to be signed soon, according to a Sunday statement.

Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouli held a meeting to follow up on efforts to enhance cooperation between Egypt and South Sudan.

The meeting was attended by Sameh Shoukry, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hani Atef Swailem, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, and Hossam Issa, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director of the Administration of Sudan and South Sudan.

Madbouli emphasized Egypt's keenness to support governmental and private sector cooperation with South Sudan through joint projects.

For his part, Shoukry said there are grants and aid provided by the Egyptian Partnership Agency for the Development of South Sudan.
