Minister of
Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhy revealed yesterday Friday 22/3/2024 efforts are
underway to organize a friendly game between the Pharaohs and France at the
state-of-the-art Egypt Stadium in the New Administrative Capital soon.
"We are making arrangements to host a friendly game between the Egypt national team and France, which would take place at Egypt Stadium in the New Administrative Capital," Sobhy said during a press conference to discuss preparations for Egypt's participation in the upcoming 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
"We have full confidence that the Egyptian delegation for the Paris Olympic Games will honorably represent the country in the upcoming event," Sobhy said.
"We greatly appreciate our cooperation with France in the field of sports," he added.
The Paris 2024 Olympics will take place from 26 July to 11 August.
The Pharaohs and France have faced each other on seven occasions, with six taking place in the Mediterranean Games.
Their last encounter was an international friendly held in April 2003 at Stade de France in Paris.
