Egypt, UNESCO to produce documentary on Egypt’s archaeological nature

The Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Hani Swailem, met with a number of leaders of the Ministry of Irrigation and a UNESCO delegation to discuss arrangements for making a documentary film on the history of irrigation in Egypt and restoring historical documents, collectibles and facilities of an archaeological nature belonging to the Ministry.

During the meeting Swailem, discussed work on establishing the Irrigation Museum at the Ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital to display historical collectibles related to irrigation.

The Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Hani Swailem, directed the preparation of a report on all historical buildings affiliated with the Ministry, including a detailed description of their conditions and available data on their history, in coordination with UNESCO to determine the priorities and coordination with development partners to provide the necessary funds for the required rehabilitation and restoration work.

Hani Swailem stressed the importance of preserving the historical character of the ministry’s buildings, which are being restored by the best companies specialized in this field.
