Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty lauded the role played by the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA) in supporting major projects in Egypt, including Cairo Light Rail Transit (LRT), manufacturing Egypt Sat II and establishing the Satellite Assembly, Integration and Test Center (AITC) in Egypt.
He made the remarks during a meeting with Chairman of the agency Luo Zhaohui on the fringe of his current visit to Beijing.
Abdelatty voiced hope to benefit from various financing mechanisms offered by China to implement more national development projects, especially as Egypt Vision 2030 conforms with the Chinese initiatives for realizing development in the South countries.
He noted that China is one of Egypt's key development partners.
Abdelatty tackled means of enhancing cooperation with the Chinese agency, especially through a trilateral cooperation mechanism in Africa, underlining the importance of building on the outcome of the Forum on China–Africa Cooperation as well as cooperating with the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development to train Egyptian and African cadres to hone their skills.
He discussed with the Chinese official means of promoting cooperation in the space domains and means of supporting the African Space Agency which Egypt hosts.
Meanwhile, he commended the role played by the Chinese agency in alleviating humanitarian crises in various parts of the world, especially in the Gaza Strip.
