The Egyptian Ministry of Social Solidarity's central rapid intervention team is implementing relief campaigns for homeless people across the country in collaboration with several civil society organizations.
The relief campaign, implemented across various governorates, included relocating the homeless to social care institutions to receive comprehensive care and suitable housing, in addition to providing blankets and hot meals to those who chose not to relocate.
Team members, working alongside volunteers, dispersed to several squares in the capital and the governorates most affected by the cold weather, utilizing vehicles stocked with blankets and food for those homeless.
The rapid intervention team's campaign, which dealt with nearly 350 cases within two days across 10 governorates, aligns with the social solidarity minister's directives to enhance the state of readiness to confront the current cold weather wave across the country.
