Weakened Storm Daniel brings breezy fall weather to Egypt

Egyptians will enjoy breezy weather and even some rain through Wednesday after weeks of sweltering heat as a weakened Storm Daniel makes impact on the country.

Manar Ghanem, a spokesperson from the Egyptian Meteorological Association (EMA), said Storm Daniel will continue to make itself felt across Egypt through Wednesday.

“The [expected] amount of rain will not impact daily activities in Greater Cairo and Lower Egypt, but it will be higher in the coastal areas,” Ghanem added.

Clouds over parts of the Greater Cairo, the northwestern coasts, and the Nile Delta will reduce visibility, she cautioned.

Intermittent rain is expected on parts of the northwest coast, northern Nile Delta, and the Suez Canal on Tuesday.

“Starting on Thursday, the effect of the depression will disappear completely,” Ghanem affirmed in her statement.

However, wind is expected to continue through Thursday.

On Wednesday, the temperature in the Greater Cairo area is expected to reach a high of 33 degrees Celsius, according to the EMA.

On Thursday, highs will stay the same in the Greater Cairo area and the North Coast.

On Friday, temperatures will be one degree higher across the country.

Saturday's weather forecast across the country is identical to Friday's, except in southern Upper Egypt, which is expected to hit 40 degrees.
