Sisi reviews efforts to upgrade healthcare system nationwide

Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi directed the government to step up efforts to develop the healthcare system in Egypt and increase access to healthcare initiatives nationwide while increasing service delivery rates in the country’s neediest villages.

The President’s remarks came during his meeting on Tuesday with Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouli as well as a host of ministers and top government officials, Presidency Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy said.

The President emphasized during the meeting, that maintaining the health of Egyptian citizens is a top priority for the state, which makes every effort in full cooperation with local and foreign private sectors to provide resources required to improve the healthcare service and to achieve financial and operational sustainability for new projects, while developing the existing ones and raising their efficiency.

The President was also briefed on the progress of the comprehensive healthcare insurance system and the number of healthcare services that were provided as part of public health initiatives.

That comes as the total healthcare services provided through all presidential initiatives amounted to more than 145 million services, benefiting 90 million citizens.
