President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi discussed with US Central Intelligence Agency Director William Burns in Cairo the ways to boost security and intelligence cooperation between the two countries.
According to the Egyptian Presidency, El-Sisi and Burns also exchanged views about the recent developments in several international and regional issues of common interest.
The Egyptian Presidency stated that Burns conveyed to President El-Sisi the greetings of US President Joe Biden. During the meeting, Burns emphasized the importance and strength of Egypt-US relations.
He affirmed that Washington was looking forward to boost cooperation and partnership relations with Egypt as a pillar of security and stability in the Middle East, especially at a time of international and regional instability.
The meeting was attended by Abbas Kamel, the head of Egypt's General Intelligence Service (GIS).
