Sisi attends graduation ceremony of military academies

Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi attended the graduation ceremony of new batches of military academies at the headquarters of the Military Academy.

Minister of Defense and Military Production Mohamed Zaki along with military top brass and a number of ministers and senior state officials attended the ceremony.

The ceremony began by playing the national anthem then the guards of honor of the cadets performed the military salute to President Sisi.

At the beginning of the graduation ceremony, the Military Order of the Republic was placed on the Armed Forces flag on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the October 6 War victory. Fighter jets appeared in the sky, gathered in a way that displays the number “50” to mark the occasion. Egypt-flagged Gazelle helicopters also appeared hovering in the sky.

A documentary shedding light on the rigorous training, workout routines and exercises of the cadets of different military academies was displayed during the ceremony.

Afterwards, the air force presented an air show with the fourth generation of F-16 fighters that have great ability to maneuver and carry out difficult missions, including air-to-air and air-to-surface tasks. The parade saw the participation of E-2C Hawkeye airborne early warning aircraft accompanied by two Mirage 2000 fighter jets.

The fourth generation of French Rafale fighter aircraft and multirole fighter jets MiG-29, as well as Ilyushin Il-76 military cargo aircraft took part in the show.

The Military Academy’s equestrian team also demonstrated their skills, through the participation of male and female knights of the Armed Forces Equestrian Club. Thunderbolt forces and paratroopers took part in the show by carrying out different tasks with Apache helicopters providing them with air cover.

The ceremony witnessed the display of some military equipment and weaponry that were used in the October War 1973 where the Egyptian soldiers showed a heroic performance that admirably proved their great technical and combat potential.

President Sisi and the attendees joined in a standing ovation saluting the flags of sisterly Arab nations that participated in the war; namely Jordan, the UAE, Tunisia, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria, Iraq, Palestine, Kuwait, Libya, Morocco and Yemen.
