Egypt’s Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouli will co-chair the 31st session of the Higher Jordanian-Egyptian Committee in Amman alongside his Jordanian counterpart, Bisher El-Khasawneh, on Monday.
The committee meeting will see the signing of a number of documents and memorandums of understanding in different fields, including health, vocational training, planning, media, insurance, and social affairs, the Egyptian Cabinet said in a statement.
Madbouli is heading a high-level delegation, including the ministers of electricity, renewable energy, petroleum, and mineral resources to participate in the 31st session of the committee, which has worked to enhance Jordanian-Egyptian cooperation since 1985.
The prime minister's delegation also includes the ministers of health, planning, international cooperation, transport, trade and industry, and labour, said the statement.
Preparatory meetings for the committee have agreed on a number of cooperation documents that are expected to be signed by the two states, particularly in labour, health, environment, culture, and financial control, the Egyptian Ministry of International Cooperation said.
The meetings also stressed the need to enhance cooperation in the natural gas industry and to exchange expertise in green hydrogen technology, the international cooperation ministry added.
Egypt also hopes that the committee will agree to boost Egyptian-Jordanian trade and increase bilateral investments, Minister of International Communication Rania Al-Mashat said as she co-chaired the preparatory meetings.
For his part, Jordanian Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply Yousef El-Shamali told Egypt's state news agency MENA that the committee session will also discuss promoting the two countries’ trilateral cooperation with Iraq as well their four-way partnership with the UAE and Bahrain.
