Higher Education min., Cairo Gov discuss Ring Road visual vision

In the framework of the directives of Prime Minister Dr. Mustafa Madbouli to develop the visual vision of the Ring Road in light of ongoing preparations for the inauguration of the Grand Egyptian Museum, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Ayman Ashour held a meeting with the Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Dr. Asem El-Gazzar, Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal, and Giza Governor Ahmad Rashed at the headquarters of the Higher Education Ministry in New Cairo.

At the beginning of the meeting, the minister of higher education announced that Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouli assigned Cairo University and Ain Shams University to draw up a plan to develop the visual vision of the Ring Road after completing the ongoing demolition and expansion work at the road.

Ashour added that a joint team from the Faculties of Engineering at Ain Shams University and Cairo University developed a vision for developing the visual image of the Ring Road ahead of the Grand Egyptian Museum’s inauguration, given it is the main road leading to the museum, noting that an integrated study on the implementation of the project through the joint team from the two universities.        

For his part, the Minister of Housing, Dr. Asem El-Gazzar, lauded the efforts of the two universities’ joint team, stressing the importance of finalizing the preparation of the project to begin its implementation.

Moreover, the meeting discussed proposals for the project according to the study submitted by the joint team.

The meeting was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Cairo University, Dr. Hossam El-Din Abdel Fattah; Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University, Dr. Akram Farouq; Director of the Architectural Design Support Institute at Cairo University, Dr. Tarek Nasr, Professors of Engineering at Cairo University Dr. Engy El-Barmagly and Dr. Amina Mamdouh, and Professor OF Engineering at Ain Shams University Dr. Hussein Farid.
