Egypt to automate hospitals via central electronic system by end of 2023

Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, confirmed that the pace of work on the hospital automation system affiliated with the ministry is currently being accelerated through a unified central electronic system.

That comes as part of the ministry's strategy for digital transformation, in a way that guarantees the achievement of a major service boom by the end of 2023. 

Abdel Ghaffar said that the automation works to link all hospitals with each other, which contributes to facilitating the circulation of patient data and making services available to them in all places where the service is provided.

Abdel Ghaffar added that Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar made it possible to benefit from the expertise of the comprehensive health insurance system, with regard to the automation of health facilities, which has proven its worth in creating databases and providing fully automated services, and he also directed that priority be given to the mechanization of hospitals.

The minister also directed the provision of specialized periodic training packages for technical specialists concerned with registration and statistics, workers in health facilities, and students of health technical institutes, and statistics, Abdel Ghaffar said.
