Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi arrived in Paris on Wednesday to take part in the New Global Financial Pact Summit slated for June 22-23.
President Sisi's participation in the summit comes in response to an invitation from French President Emmanuel Macron in light of strong strategic ties binding Egypt and France.
President Sisi's participation in the summit also falls within the framework of Egypt's active role at the level of emerging economies in general, which contributes to promoting international initiatives aimed at supporting developing and least developed countries, along with facilitating their access to the liquidity needed to face the economic repercussions of successive global challenges.
During the summit, President Sisi will focus on various issues of concern to developing countries, as well as stepping up international efforts to facilitate their access to the required financial flows in light of the challenges facing these countries as a result of the escalating global crises.
Egypt's endeavor to achieve the goals of sustainable development 2030, including the developed countries' commitment to fulfill their pledges within the United Nations (UN) Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Paris Agreement, will figure high on the summit.
President Sisi is also scheduled to hold a series of meetings with French and international leaders and senior officials to discuss means of boosting bilateral cooperation and coordination on an array of regional and international issues of mutual interest
