President Abdel Fatah El-Sisi met with Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani at Al-Ittihadiya Presidential Palace to confer over bilateral cooperation, and exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual concern.
The meeting discussed developing cooperation in the sectors of trade, investment, agriculture, and energy security, especially in the field of natural gas, through the existing strategic partnership between Egypt and Italy's Eni.
The talks equally covered the efforts deployed by Egypt to combat illegal migration as well as terrorism and extremist thought.
In that area, the minister commended the role of Egypt in promoting the principles of tolerance and freedom of belief.
