UAE President, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, welcomed the President Sisi upon arrival in Abu Dhabi and the two leaders held a meeting at Qasr Al-Shatie.
During their meeting, President Sisi offered condolences to the UAE President over the death of Sheikha Maryam bint Abdullah bin Sulayem Al-Falasi, mother of Sheikha Salama bint Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, wife of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Presidency Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy said.
The meeting, spokesman Fahmy said, affirmed the specialty of the Egypt-UAE close ties as reflected in the continuous coordination between the two countries which helps support stability of the Arab region and the Middle East. Means of further boosting bilateral ties in all fields were also considered during the meeting, Spokesman Fahmy added.
The Egyptian leader is the guest of honor for this year’s WGS which convenes under the theme of “Shaping Future Governments”, Spokesman Fahmy said.
During the WGS’s events and discussion panels, President Sisi will expound the Egyptian government’s strategies and priorities at the economic and developmental levels, amid successive crises the world has been going through, Spokesman Fahmy said.
Egypt’s participation in this WGS edition is the largest, which reflects the distinguished relations with the UAE, he noted.
Sisi’s itinerary includes bilateral meetings with key figures taking part in the summit, including senior officials of regional and international economic and financial institutions.
