The Ministry of Social Solidarity announced Monday that Egypt would host in June the second edition of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation's (OIC) ministerial meeting entitled "Impact of Social Justice on Social Security."
During the two-day meeting, reports by the OIC and the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) will be presented on what has been achieved to deal with issues pertaining to children, marriage, family, elderly, and disabled.
The OIC was established in 1969 to be the second largest international organization worldwide as it has 57 member states distributed among four continents. The organization had set an agenda for 2016-2025, consisting of 18 fields and 107 goals.
Those include peace and security; Palestine and Jerusalem; poverty; counterterrorism; micro funding; food security; science and technology; climate change; sustainable development; moderation; culture and tolerance; women empowerment; humanitarian joint work; and, human rights.
