Egypt Air to benefit from GE Aerospace solutions for 5 yrs.

Egypt Air Holding Company has signed a co-operation protocol with GE Aerospace to benefit from the American company’s software solutions through apps like Flight Pulse, Fuel Insight, and Safety Insight, over the coming five years.

The protocol was signed on the sidelines of Egypt Air's participation in Dubai Airshow, by Egypt Air Holding’s Chairman Yahia Zakaria, and General Manager of GE Digital Aviation Software Andrew Coleman. Under the protocol, the new apps will enable Egypt Air to use data to enhance flight safety and reduce risks of the least amount of inaccurate data.

Egypt Air will also be able, through these systems, to promote operations, including data assimilation, including error correction and statistical reporting. The solutions also offer the Egyptian national carrier the vision it needs to make more efficient decisions pertaining to fuel consumption, in addition to supporting the company’s sustainability plan, while reducing unnecessary waste in burning fuel.

GE Aerospace’s Andrew Coleman voiced content over the protocol, which he said implied ambition for more sustainable and efficient operation. For his part, Egypt Air's Zakaria said that the solutions would enable his company to exploit flight data, hoping to use them to develop ways to improve operations and provide better experiences for clients. He also referred to a strategic relationship with GE, which began 40 years before the purchase of the first B4 aircraft.

“Today, we are bolstering co-operation with our partners to enable Egypt Air to reduce fuel consumption and enhance sustainability,” Zakaria was quoted as saying. GE Aerospace is a world-leading provider of jet and turboprop engines, as well as integrated systems for commercial, military, business and general aviation aircraft.
