Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry received Tuesday a phone call from his Cuban counterpart Bruno Rodriguez, who invited Egypt to take part in the summit of the Group of 77 and China scheduled for September 15-16 in Havana.
Rodriguez expressed his country's appreciation for the remarkable growth of bilateral relations. On his side, Shoukry valued the historic ties between Egypt and Cuba since the foundation of diplomatic relations between them in 1958.
The foreign minister said that Egypt aspired to bolster economic cooperation and trade with Cuba, expressing appreciation for the current coordination with the Latin American state in the framework of the international community.
