Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal witnessed Tuesday a workshop on the Localization of Sustainable Development Goals in the presence of the minister of Planning and Economic Development along with the minister of Local Development.
The workshop, organized by the Ministry of Planning in several Egyptian cities, comes in the framework of the approach adopted by the Egyptian state to follow up on the implementation of the National Strategy for Sustainable Development Egypt Vision 2030 in line with the UN Agenda 2030.
It also reflects the state’s interest in localizing the sustainable development goals for balancing regional development.
Moreover, the SDG Localization Workshop aims to introduce the concept of SDG localization and the steps taken by the governorates to prepare voluntary local reports. It also shed light on the necessary technical support of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development to enable governorates to merge sustainable development goals into their local plans and to monitor the progress of achieving these goals.
