Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal inspected the activities of the Water Week organized by the Holding Company for Water and Wastewater (HCWW) from 10-15 March as part of the National Campaign to rationalize Water Consumption under the theme “Every Drop Counts.”
Abdel Aal asserted that the awareness campaign sponsored by the Cairo governorate comes under the directives of the political leadership to raise awareness about how to rationalize water consumption and preserve natural resources.
The campaign is launched in coordination with water week activities relevant authorities, including the Health Affairs Directorate, the General Authority of Cultural Palaces, the Education Directorate, the Youth and Sports Directorate, the Asmarat district, the Awqaf Directorate, the Social Solidarity Directorate, and worship houses.
The activities include several activities for students of schools, Al-Azhar institutes, as well as libraries and cultural palaces visitors.
Moreover, the events will include training workshops for women on plumbing, sanitary equipment maintenance, repairing damaged sanitary ware at government buildings, and organizing football leagues in youth centers.
Several religious lessons and sermons will also be held in mosques and churches on rationalizing water consumption. In addition, a water convoy will be launched to provide residents with the services of the water company through mobile customer services vehicles and mobile laboratories.
Furthermore, there will be a knock on the door campaign to introduce the residents of the Asmarat area to the events and activities of the campaign.
