Cairo Gov. follows up second phase of ‘Live It Right’ Initiative

Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal followed up Tuesday the wrapping of the second phase of the “Live It Right” initiative launched by the General Department for Preserving Cairo Heritage, Cairo governorate, at the Asmarat Cultural Palace in light of Cairo’s joining the UNESCO Creative Cities Network of folk arts and traditional crafts.

The governor said that the initiative aims at the economic empowerment of women in the Asmarat neighborhood to become entrepreneurs following the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to empower women economically.   

The “Live It Right” initiative is the first Cairo governorate’s initiative for economic women’s empowerment in alternative housing projects for informal areas.

The first phase included the social rehabilitation of women in the Asmarat area to overcome any challenges.

The second phase targeted raising the cultural and heritage awareness of those women.

Meanwhile, the third phase aims to empower the area’s women economically in line with Egypt Vision 2030 and the sustainability of traditional crafts.
