Cairo Governorate holds symposiums on Green Projects Initiative

Cairo Governorate held several symposiums on how to apply for the 2nd round of the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects Initiative, launched by the Egyptian government nationwide, at Al-Waily, Boulaq Abu El-Ella, and Wast Al-Qahira districts as well as the Helwan Observatory, Fustat Market, and Khadiga Palace.

The symposiums, which are part of the governorate’s efforts to raise awareness about the importance of the initiative, discussed types of smart green projects aiming to mitigate the impacts of climate change, preserve natural resources, and reduce air pollution. They also covered the initiative’s goals, participation conditions, and targeted categories.

Moreover, they urged applicants to abide by the participation requirements and criteria, including the feasibility of the project, its expected effect on society, tackling climate change and environmental challenges, and using technological components.   

For his part, Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal has called on individuals, companies, and institutions to hurry up and register for the initiative via the website from April 2023 to May 2023.

The governor furthermore said that the initiative comes in the framework of the state’s efforts to achieve sustainable development through implementing Egypt’s Vision 2023 by protecting the environment, improving the quality of living, preserving future generations’ rights, and implementing the National Strategy for Climate Change 2050.
