Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has paid tribute to the tasks and accomplishments of the National Alliance for Civil Developmental Action, highlighting in this connection the importance of the role of all charitable associations and entities operating in fields where the government cannot solely fulfill.
In remarks he made on Monday during an alliance event to acknowledge model beneficiaries of the Economic Empowerment Initiative, President Sisi hailed the grouping’s activities for having been large and well-coordinated, thereby achieving great results.
“We want the rest of the entities to join the coalition in order to provide greater assistance to society at the economic, health and other levels,” Sisi said, noting that the effort of the National Alliance for Civil Developmental Action is clear in this context.
The president expressed thanks to the alliance, saying, “You are a role model for a large number of Egyptians who work within the framework of the Economic Empowerment Initiative.”
Highlighting the contribution of civil society associations to the achievement of development, President Sisi said that such entities undertake a role that the government cannot solely fulfill, noting in this regard that there are about 50,000 such associations operating nationwide, with many of them functioning under the umbrella of the coalition.
President Sisi also called on the coalition and all civil society entities to intensify their efforts in 2023 due to the ongoing global economic circumstances, pointing out that the coalition made great efforts during 2022.
Moreover, the president called for larger accession of more charitable action entities to the National Alliance for Civil Developmental Action, adding that would help achieve tremendous results within the framework of the alliance’s combined, mobilized and well-coordinated role at the economic, health or other levels where it operates.
