President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on Tuesday greeted the Egyptian people and the Muslim world on the new Hijri year.
In a post on his social media account, the president wrote: "I greet the Egyptian people and Muslim nation on the occasion of the new Hijri year, praying that it will be a year full of prosperity and progress."
He also wished that "Peace, security, and stability would prevail across our beloved Egypt… Happy new year."
