Egyptian president pardons some convicts on occasion of Police Day

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has ordered pardoning a number of convicts on the occasion of the Police Day and the 25th of January Revolution.

The decision no. 7 of 2023 to pardon a number of inmates has been published in the official gazette.

The 25th of January marks a historic clash between Egyptian police forces and the British Occupation forces in 1952, which was called then “Ismailia Battle.”

Meanwhile, the January revolution in 2011 marks the ousting of former President Hosni Mubarak, which then resulted in holding democratic elections the following year.
