Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal said Tuesday that, in line with the instructions of political leadership, the executive bodies of Cairo governorate continue to open more outlets offering high-quality commodities and foodstuff at affordable prices to alleviate burdens on citizens across Cairo, especially in the neediest neighborhoods in cooperation with several authorities, including the Supply Directorate, Cairo Chamber of Commerce, relevant companies, and various social initiatives.
Abdel Aal added that Cairo inaugurated several outlets in Nasr City, Madinet El-Aml, Alf Maskan, Gesr El-Suez, El-Shorouq city, and the industrial area as part of the governorate’s efforts to spread new outlets across the capital.
Moreover, Abdel Aal asserted that the executive bodies of Cairo governorate intensified its inspection campaigns on outlets and shops to ensure the quality of commodities, prevent overpricing and monopoly, and take necessary legal actions against violators.
Abdel Aal added that there are regular follow-up campaigns to ensure the products’ conformity with specifications and urged to take strict actions against any violations concerning citizens’ health.
Abdel Aal further asserted that the outlets provide all kinds of strategic commodities, including rice, cooking oil, sugar, flour, meat, poultry, fruits, and vegetables.
Abdel Aal also noted that the newly established “Ahlan Ramadan” outlets receive a high turnout from citizens, given they offer commodities at discounts ranging from 25 to 30 percent.
