Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal made a sudden tour of inspection of the consumer complexes, markets, and bakeries in the Zaiton neighborhood to follow up on commodity prices.
During his tour, the governor met some beneficiaries of ration cards who assured the availability of high-quality commodities at affordable prices, unlike other market prices.
Furthermore, the governor urged intensifying
inspection campaigns on subsidized bread bakeries to ensure bread quality,
weight, and conformity to specifications.
The governor said that within days more than
100 outlets selling commodities would be established as a collaborative effort between
Cairo governorate and Cairo Chamber of Commerce across Cairo to offer citizens
goods at competitive prices.
Moreover, the governor emphasized that many
outlets would be available to sell goods at wholesale prices, especially in the
neediest neighborhoods.
The governor reiterated that
the executive bodies of the Cairo governorate constantly follow up on the availability
of all commodities at affordable prices and monitor market prices to prevent
commercial fraud and price manipulation, adding that authorities will take necessary
legal actions against violators.
The governor was accompanied by Deputy Cairo
Governor Hossam El-Din Fawzy, Director of Supply Directorate Abdel Naeem Hamed,
and several officials of Cairo governorate.
