Egypt collaborates with Cote D'Ivoire to establish liver transplant center

Egyptian Ambassador to Cote D'Ivoire Wael Badawi delivered to Treichville University Hospital medical devices provided by Egypt to support the establishment of a regional center for liver surgery and transplant.

Ambassador Badawi stated that the cargo is part of the medical cooperation program between Egypt and Cote D'Ivoire that began in 2021 when an Egyptian team carried out the first liver transplant in Western Africa at the same hospital.

The diplomat added that Egypt was also collaborating with Cote D'Ivoire to train doctors and nurses who would work at the center.
