Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry will receive Vice-President of European Commission for Promoting European Way of Life Margaritis Schinas on Sunday, according to a statement by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry.
Margaritis will arrive in Egypt on March 26 to 28 to deepen the cooperation between the EU and Egypt in areas such as skills, education and mobility, and to discuss concrete steps at political and operational level to address shared challenges linked to migration management, following up to the orientations of the recent European Council meetings, the EU mission in Egypt said in a statement.
The visit will start in Cairo where Vice-President Schinas will have a series of high-level meetings with Egyptian leaders and government representatives, including Mohamed Hassan Shehata, Minister for Manpower; Reda Hegazi, Minister for Education and Technical Education; and Alaa Abdel Maati, Assistant Minister of Interior, the statement said.
In the context of promoting interfaith dialogue, the Vice-President will meet His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of St Mark Church, the statement added.
On Monday, Vice-President Schinas will visit the Egyptian-German Centre for Jobs, Migration and Reintegration in Cairo, together with Soha El-Gendy, Minister of State for Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Abroad.
