Cairo Gov. urges restoring order in the capital streets

Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal directed Tuesday Cairo’s district chiefs to intensify periodical inspection campaigns to remove illegal occupancies in streets to restore order and civilized features in the capital’s streets.

Abdel Aal also urged district chiefs to conduct inspection campaigns daily and directly deal with and find quick solutions for citizens’ complaints.

Moreover, Abdel Aal ordered officials to increase the efficiency of street cleaning, improve street lighting across the city, remove encroachments on pavements, and the necessary legal actions against violators.

In this context, the Chief of Madinet Nasr District, in coordination with the Public Utility Police, Shops Department, and the Field Follow-up Department, conducted a crackdown on violated cafes and removed all occupancies, encroachments on roads, as well as street vendors.

Abdel Aal further instructed officials to intensify crackdowns against street occupancies and maintain street order ahead of the Eid Al-Fitr feast to prevent traffic congestion during the holidays.
