Temperature to drop 7 degrees in Cairo

A heatwave that has gripped most of Egypt over the past several days is expected to subside gradually starting Friday, with temperatures to go down 7 degrees in Cairo and 15 degrees along the northern coast.

 

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) forecast that the spell of hot weather will continue till Thursday, driving up the mercury during the day time to 39 degrees in Cairo and 38 degrees along the north coast and in South Sinai.

 

However, temperatures are expected to drop on Friday to 32 degrees in Cairo, 23 degrees in the North Coast, and 37 degrees in South Sinai and southern Upper Egypt.

 

Northern Upper Egypt will start to see a drop in temperatures on Saturday, with temperatures set to hit 41 degrees, down from 43 degrees the day prior.

 

The cooler and moderate weather conditions will persist at nighttime nationwide over the coming week, according to the EMA.

 

Parts of Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, the North Coast, South Sinai, and Upper Egypt are expected to experience intermittent winds until next Tuesday.

 

Foggy weather is also expected along roads and highways around Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, the North Coast, and Upper Egypt on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
