The meeting took place on Thursday on the sidelines of the African Union-European Union Summit in the Belgian capital of Brussels.
According to the Egyptian Presidency, El-Sisi also asserted to Al-Menfi that Egypt was keen to boost close cooperation with Libya in the near future.
From his side, the chairman expressed his appreciation for Egypt’s support including efforts led by President El-Sisi to restore the country’s national institutions and unify the Libyan National Army in addition to supporting the current political path in Libya.
During the meeting, El-Sisi and Al-Menfi discussed the latest developments in Libya and efforts to restore security and stability.
The Egyptian President reiterated Egypt’s stances supporting Libya’s territorial unity, stability and security, a unified national army, and ending foreign intervention including the presence of all foreign fighters and mercenaries in the neighboring country.
