Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi inaugurated Wednesday a number of “Digital Egypt” projects via video-conferencing including the applied technology schools in Nasr City and El Sheikh Zayed.
Sisi put the cost of establishing one interchange center at about 10 billion pounds.
This is only part of the cost paid for Egypt to go digital and use artificial intelligence, the president said.
Cairo is currently acting to transform to digital performance using artificial intelligence, Sisi told the ceremony, stressing that the cost would be huge.
Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli, a number of ministers and senior state officials attended the inauguration ceremony.
For his part, Communications and IT Minister Amr Talaat affirmed that his ministry’s strategy focuses on three main goals, including cooperation with the various State bodies in providing governmental services to the citizens, providing highly efficient and stable telecommunication services, along with enabling youth to compete effectively in the labor market.
During President Sisi’s inauguration of several “Digital Egypt” projects, Talaat said the projects mainly aim to provide seamless services to the citizens.
These services are implemented under the umbrella of digital transformation, which means digitalizing all the governmental procedures, the minister said.
