President Sisi mourns victims of Aswan tourist bus crash

Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi has offered his “sincere condolences and sympathy” to the families of the victims of a tragic road accident on Wednesday in Aswan that killed 10 people – five Egyptians, four French, and one Belgian.

"I have instructed the concerned authorities to take all necessary measures, follow up and provide all medical treatment and care for the victims of the painful accident," El-Sisi wrote on his official social media accounts on same day.

The president also said that he has issued instructions to provide "support to the families of the victims and the injured."

The accident took place on the Aswan-Abu Simbel highway when a truck and a tourist bus collided, injuring 14 people, including six from France and six from Belgium, whom Aswan governorate says are in stable condition.

"I extend my sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the deceased, praying to the Almighty to bless the victims with mercy and grant their families and relatives forbearance and solace," El-Sisi said.

The cause of the crash is not immediately clear, and an investigation by the Public Prosecution is still ongoing.
