President Sisi inspects road development works in Greater Cairo

Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi inspected on Friday construction and development works to develop a number of roads in Greater Cairo.

El-Sisi’s inspection tour included the Mokattam Corniche and Central Plateau and all the new axes leading to the neighborhood, including Yasser Rizk axis, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said.

Yasser Rizk axis will connect the Nile Corniche, downtown, Salah Salem Road, and Hadarat Axis to the Mokattam Plateau.

The axis will ease the movement of residents of Maadi, Helwan and Mokattam districts in south and central Cairo heading to the Nile Corniche without having to use to the Ring Road or the Autostrad Highway, the spokesman said.

The president also inspected the workflow in Hasaballah El-Kafrawi axis, which connects Maadi district in south Cairo to east Cairo and areas of New Cairo through the Ring Road and El-Shahid Axis.

This will help ease traffic pressure on the Cairo Ring Road, the spokesman noted.

During the tour, El-Sisi ordered continuing efforts of developing the roads and different traffic axes along the Greater Cairo to ease traffic jams.

This comes within the framework of the state’s plan to continuously develop and modernize the network of roads and axes in Greater Cairo, the spokesman affirmed.
