Egyptian Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouli directed the cabinet members to accelerate the completion of the construction of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), said the Egyptian cabinet in a statement on Sunday.
The Premier’s directions were stated during a meeting with the concerned ministers to be updated on the ongoing construction work in the Grand Egyptian Museum project, especially with regard to building the sun boats and the preparations for displaying the artifacts at the GEM.
He also highlighted the importance of completing two metro stations in the vicinity of the GEM fast to implement the whole project on time.
During the meeting, Major General Atef Moftah, the supervisor of the Grand Egyptian Museum project made a presentation of the project's executive work. He said that the works were completed in the external yards, the Obelisk Square at a rate of 100 percent, while work at the Great Hall Square and the Great Staircase were done by 99.8 percent.
