Heatwave strikes Egypt over next 72 hours

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority warned against a rise in temperatures and humidity during the upcoming 72 hours.

 

The temperature in Cairo reaches 40C, and in the southern governorates, will reach 45C.

 

Humidity on Greater Cairo and the Delta will reach between 80 percent to 85 percent, while it will reach 95 percent on the northern coasts during the next three days.

 

Mist is expected in the morning on agricultural and highway roads and those close to water bodies leading to and from Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, the northern coasts and the cities of the Suez Canal.

 

Active winds are predicted on northwestern coasts.

 

The EMA advised against exposure to direct sunlight to prevent fatigue and lethargy, drinking cold drinks, wearing cotton clothes, and sitting in well-ventilated and not closed places.

 

Expected temperatures today: Cairo 36C
