Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said Tuesday at the summit of Mideast Climate Initiative, held on the sidelines of COP27 in Sharm El-Sheikh, that he had discussed with President Abdel Fatah El-Sisi projects that would accomplish direct transportation of energy to Europe.
The Greek prime minister noted that climate change is affecting the environment, food, water, energy and migration Eastern Mediterranean. Hence, he stressed the importance of cooperation among the region's countries, when either is hit by wildfires or floods.
In October 2021, Minister of Electricity Mohamed Shaker signed electricity linkage MoUs with Greece and Cyprus in the presence of the chiefs of state of the three countries who were convening at the ninth Tripartite Summit held in Athens.
