In this context, a delegation of the French Development Agency, the European Union, and The Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (MSMEDA) visited the ongoing development projects in Ezbet Khairallah informal area. These projects are funded by the European Union and the French Agency.
The visit included the project of developing pedestrian paths and stairs and establishing ascending linking road worth 17.5 million Egyptian pounds. It aims to improve the environmental and urban status of the area and connect the residents of Ezbet Khairallah to services such as metro stations and schools.
Moreover, the project includes establishing and paving a 750-meter two-lane road at the western entrance to the area.
The delegation also visited the Quarry Road Development Project worth 23 million Egyptian pounds, aiming to develop the quarry road, which is of particular importance due to its connection to the ongoing ascending linking road to ease the movement of the residents and goods and for the integration of all movement paths in the Quarry Road, the ascending linking road, and other road axes in Gabakhana Mohammad Ali neighborhood.
The Quarry Project, furthermore, includes establishing two tartan stadiums, four clay courts, an open-air theatre, and a kid’s area.
Additionally, the delegation visited several health units that were developed in Ezbet Khairallah informal area to improve the provided health services.
The delegation was accompanied by Assistant Secretary-General Ibrahim Awad, Director of Housing and Utility Directorate Wael Hasan, and Director of Informal areas Upgrade Unit Khalil Shaath.
