Egypt’s Ministry of education announced the launch of the National Strategy to reform and develop Technical Education "TE 2.0”, to meet the needs of the workforce market according to international standards as well as the latest developments considering the new curricula and systems of the Technical Education in the country.
According to the ministry’s statement, the work to renovate and develop the curricula started with reforming and implementing 33 school programs in the school year 2019/20 followed by reforming and implementing 15 school programs in the school year 2020/21, then reforming and implementing 37 school programs in the school year 2021/22.
In total, 85 curricula have been re-developed and reformed according to the Ministry.
The ministry added that the technical schools that implemented the newly renovated programs in September 2019 were 107. While the number was 118 schools in September 2020 and 881 in September 2022 in all sections of the Technical Education, whether industrial, agricultural, commercial, hospitality, or dual-education system.
The new curricula will be applied to all students in the first secondary class in private and public schools already implementing the new programs. The ministry also said that all the school programs will be reformed, redeveloped, and applied in all the Technical Education schools in Egypt in September 2014.
The ministry added that the Minister of Education approved the evaluation system for the Technical Education, which is based on the formative assessment that allows following up on students’ progress.
The statement said that the final diploma for students will be in their final third year, and it will be put with the participation of education experts and representatives from the workforce market. Furthermore, it will be implemented inside the training places. The final diploma will be evaluated by an external committee of specialists whether from the workforce or education.
