The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) advised the public to avoid direct sunlight and to wear hats during the afternoon.
The authority also recommended that people drink a lot of cold fluids and wear loose-fitting and light-colored cotton garments.
Extremely hot weather is forecast during the day in Greater Cairo, Upper Egypt, South Sinai, Lower Egypt, and the eastern coast until Sunday, while hot weather is expected along the northern coast, the EMA had said in a statement on Thursday.
Moderate temperatures are expected during night time across the country, the authority added.
Egypt has seen rising temperatures and humidity as of Wednesday due to the Indian seasonal thermal depression that has caused scorching temperatures in the Asian country and is moving to several Middle Eastern countries, including Egypt, according to the EMA.
The heatwave is expected to subside gradually as of Sunday, with a drop in temperatures of 7-8 degrees in the North Coast, 6-7 degrees in Greater Cairo and Lower Egypt, and 5-4 degrees in northern Upper Egypt.
