Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh
Shoukry discussed on Tuesday in Brussels, Belgium, ways to boost cooperation
with the European Union especially in green transition in Egypt with the
European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Olivér Várhelyi, the
Egyptian Foreign Ministry said.
According to the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, Shoukry and Várhelyi also discussed ways to cooperate in combating climate change.
From his side, the European commissioner said on his official Twitter account on Tuesday that he held good discussions with Shoukry ahead of the European Union-African Union meeting that will be held on 17 and 18 February in Brussels as well as ahead of a meeting between President Abdel-Fattah and President of the EU Commission Ursula Von der Leyen
“Egypt is a key strategic partner for the EU for shared prosperity and stability,” he said on Twitter.
