Egypt looks forward to exchanging expertise with India

President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi said that Egypt looks forward to exchanging expertise with New Delhi in areas of sustainable development, particularly in information technology, as he received Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.

 

The meeting was attended by Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and Indian Ambassador in Cairo Ajit Gupte.

 

Sisi hailed the historic relations between the two countries, saying Egypt holds India in high esteem given its status as one of the world’s ancient civilizations and for its great contributions in all fields.

 

Jaishankar conveyed a message to El-Sisi from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in which he praised the depth of relations between India and Egypt.

 

In his message, the Indian prime minister said that his country looks forward to exploring new horizons for fruitful cooperation with Egypt, particularly in light of Egypt’s status as a cornerstone for stability in the Middle East and the African continent as well as the immense and remarkable development achievements realized over the past years in Egypt across an array of levels.

 

The meeting focused on joint industrialization efforts and the exchange of military expertise as well as the exchange of strategic goods between the two countries, in addition to cooperation in technological education, as well as boosting the size and scope of Indian companies’ investment in Egypt.

 

President Sisi and India's top diplomat reviewed the latest regional and international developments, particularly the repercussions of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis on the sectors of energy, food and economy.
