Dusty winds expected across Egypt on Monday

Dusty winds are expected to hit Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, the Suez Canal cities, and the northern coast on Monday, the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) said.

In a statement on Sunday, the EMA also said mild rainfall is likely along the eastern coast, South Sinai, and the Red Sea mountain range.

There is a 30 percent chance of mild rainfall in the southeastern cities of Halayeb and Shalateen on Tuesday, but no rainfall is expected elsewhere in the country until Saturday.

From Monday through Saturday, temperatures will be cold in Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, and northern Upper Egypt during the day time, the EMA said.

Temperatures will be on the colder side along the eastern coast and warmer in South Sinai and southern Upper Egypt.

However, extremely cold weather is expected at night across Egypt, especially in central Sinai and northern Upper Egypt, where frost may accumulate.

Greater Cairo will see highs of 16-18 degrees Celsius and lows of 7-11 degrees between Monday and Saturday.
