Under the auspices of Egypt's Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouli, Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal attended Tuesday the first international conference held by Dar Al-Iftaa Salam Center for Extremism Studies from 7 June to 9 June 2022 under the title" Religious Extremism.. Intellectual Foundation and Confrontation Strategies". The conference will be attended by several ministers, representatives of the UN Security Council, the European Commission, the Arab League, several executive leaders, muftis, intellectuals, and figures of media from different 24 countries such as the USA, Germany, Italy, India, Poland, Singapore, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, and others.
The opening session included speeches by the Egypt Grand Mufti and Head of the General Secretariat of Fatwa Authorities Worldwide Shawki Allam, the Minister of Endowments Mohammad Mokhtar Gomaa on behalf of The Prime Minister, Deputy of Al-Azhar Mohammad Al-Dwainy on behalf of the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ahmad Al-Tayab, and the Minister of Omar Marwan.
Moreover, the Director of the UN Counter-Terrorism Centre Jahangir Khan, Chief of Section in the Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate Ambassador Ahmad Seif El-Dawla, and the General Supervisor of the Salam Project for Civilizational Communication Faisal Ibn Moamar delivered speeches at the opening session.
The conference that asserts Egypt's leading role in the Arab region and the world is bringing together a host of officials, researchers, experts, and scholars to exchange experiences and cooperation to confront terrorism.
