On Behalf of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli, Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal witnessed Saturday the Armenian Catholic Church Easter mass led by the Armenian Catholic Bishop of Alexandria Krikor Augustinos Kousa at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Church in Misr Al-Gadidah neighborhood.
Abdel Aal congratulated the Armenian Catholic Church in Egypt on Easter Sunday, praising the spirit of love and unity between the nation’s two components. He also added that ongoing celebrations are a global message that Egypt is a country of peace and safety.
For his Part, Bishop Augustinos asserted that Egypt is witnessing several celebrations as we are celebrating Easter today and Eid Al-Fitr in two weeks, stressing the unity and solidarity of the Egyptian people.
Abdel Aal was accompanied by Deputy Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber, Chief of Misr Al-Gadidah district Hossam Labib, and several state officials.
Earlier, Abdel Aal directed districts’ chiefs to intensify cleaning campaigns and remove waste and street occupancies around churches ahead of Easter celebrations.
